Just sharing info.

I picked up a 100 wt fleece jacket from Lands End for $24. I received it today and a size large weighs in at 10 1/8 ozs. Not bad, but I was hoping for lighter.

It has pockets, which add to the weight. It looks like I could easily sew them shut and cut out the extra pocket material to save an extra ounce or 2. I’m torn, because I like pockets.

Anyway, if you want a low cost 100 weight fleece, you might want to check them out. The only color available is blaze orange and it is bright, but I don’t mind it.

I also picked up their 100 wt fleece hat (black) that weighs in at .75 oz and their 100 wt fleece glove that weigh in at 1 1/4 ozs.

I was surprised, as they all seem like they are reasonable quality for the cost.

I won’t get to use them until November on the Foothills trail, so no real use experience to report, yet.

I have a lands end 100wt fleece pullover that is 8.8oz in a large. No pockets.  It’s real Polartec fleece too.

I have some Lands end 100wt fleece gloves that are 0.8oz and beanie that is .85oz. They are knock off fleece but still good quality.

I have an Eddie Bauer 1/4 zip that weighs in at 8 ozs, but I prefer a full zip for better venting. I’m a heavy sweater, once I get my core temp up. I’m probably going to take the pockets out and see what that weighs. Need to pick up some blaze orange thread first.

Finally got around to sewing the pockets shut and cutting out the inner pockets. This only saved an ounce. I was hoping for two. At least I have a full zip 100 weight fleece that weighs 9 1/8 for $24, which is better weight than my other full zip fleece jackets.
