So i’ve lined up a summer gig near steamboat springs CO just next to the Zirkel wilderness. I’ll usually have 2 consecutive nights off, sometimes just one. I’ve never been to Colorado before, so any intel as to what is in the area that I must hike/climb is greatly appreciated! Day trips and Overnights will likely be the majority of my adventures.
Also, I’ve never done any backpacking outside of Oregon/Washington. Any tips for how to pack/other logistical considerations for the drier/higher climate?
