Changelog
v2.0.0 (30.Apr.2026)
- New:
- [Feature] – TRIPS now supports resupply points for long-distance route planning. Add one or more resupplies along your route to model where you pick up more food, including mid-day resupplies, resupplies at campsites, and town stops where you leave with food for the next leg instead of carrying extra food through a zero day. Resupplies appear as explicit itinerary and map events, update pack-weight and food-carry calculations by route leg, and can be snapped to campsites when the resupply and overnight location are the same. Add resupplies through the Segmentation button, and access their details in the Segments tab of the Plan Panel. See the related Support Doc for more information.
v1.0.1 (18.Apr.2026)
- Updates:
- [Documentation] – Added a new TRIPS glossary for common terms and acronyms, including MDR, MEM, HRR, BMR, S0, E0, hrS0, and hrAeT. The glossary is now linked directly from the in-app Quick Start modal, and MDR and MEM also have inline hover explanations in the route and day summary pills, making these outputs easier to understand without leaving the planner.
- [Accessibility/UI/UX] – Improved the accessibility and behavioral consistency of TRIPS’ live popup surfaces through a series of small changes. This patch cleaned up incorrect dialog semantics on non-modal overlays, hardened the About and Quick Start reference modals with proper focus handling and dismissal behavior, brought Trip Manager and the map confirm dialog surfaces up to stronger modal contracts, and completed a full accessibility pass on the Plan Panel popout family so those floating panels now receive focus on open, close on Escape, and return focus to their inline Pop out triggers without becoming modal. Calibration Workspace modal contract enforcement was intentionally deferred for a later task.
v1.0.0 (15.Apr.2026)
TRIPS v1 is now live as the production baseline on Backpacking Light. This release establishes the first stable member-facing SaaS version of TRIPS: authenticated access, persistent trip storage, route-based planning, day segmentation, route/day diagnostics, and the first production-ready operational layer for support and monitoring:
- GPX upload and route rendering
- day segmentation with camps and layovers
- basic and pro user interfaces
- user input for the following scopes: capacity (effort intent, hiking time, sleep hours, altitude acclimatization), energy intake (food consumption, energy density, weight), pack weight (base, food), user HRR anchor model)
- route analysis of grade structure detail
- route and day outputs for distance, gain/loss, time, fatigue/risk proxy, and energy-related metrics
- altitude and acclimatization modeling
- fatigue and risk proxy modeling
- calibration workflow for FIT ingestion, speed analysis, ∆HR proxy modeling, cost of transport, and effort intent modeling
- Backpacking Light account access via SSO
- saved trips with open, update, and duplicate workflows
- admin and health tooling for monitoring & supportability
