Custom R2 Lightweight Backpack, About 60L, 1.3 lb, 20.5” Torso
This pack is the result of a project I did when I was the backpack editor for Backpacking Light Magazine. I worked with R2 Packs to create “my perfect backpack” and documented the experience in this article. Read the article to get much more detail on the pack.
Note that the pack was targeted to have a capacity of 3200 cubic inches (52 liters) including all the pockets, but I would estimate it is about 60L. The framesheet was added later and is not mentioned in the article.
Pack will carry loads up to about 35 pounds in its present configuration. If you want to create a custom curvature for your back, I suggest you add some aluminum stays to the framesheet, as described in this article.
