Question about Seek Outside Divide 2016

Got mine today and looks like it will be perfect, but for one thing. I cannot see why the webbing loop for the Talon or compression strap is sewn on below the bottle pocket elastic. Am I missing something?
It makes it so that the bottle pocket wants to push the buckle out of the loop, and interferes with the pocket.
