I’ve seen these at a number of different places, and my initial thought was that “self-heating” would equate with “heavy”. I’ll be honest and admit that I didn’t look any further to see if that was true… I’d be interested to hear any feedback as well. Yuppie MRE sounds like it could be a pretty accurate assessment

The weight and volume of the trash alone for a 4-5 day trip would be prohibitive.
And the beef stew is 170 calories??!! That has got to be the worst kcal/oz in existence. Allowing a modest 2 oz for heater/spoon/napkin would yield a total weight of 10 oz, therefore 17 kcal/oz.
