Any interests in an early season hammock hang up in Lassen National Forest?
No shortage of trails or trees.
Feb 3, 2019 at 6:26 am #3576525Thinking later in March or April.
Hate when I forget about no editing the first post.
Feb 3, 2019 at 6:30 am #3576526Always wanted to do a trip in Lassen. Do I have to hang to join?
Feb 3, 2019 at 6:38 am #3576527You do not. I am really enjoying it up there.
I’ve not thrown a hang so branching out.
Feb 3, 2019 at 6:43 am #3576528What hammock are you using these days?
Feb 3, 2019 at 6:45 am #3576529Dutchware Chameleon wide. Just a few nights in it so far, but good.
Feb 3, 2019 at 6:54 am #3576531Be sure to all hang together or most assuredly, you shall all hang separately.
Feb 3, 2019 at 7:01 am #3576533State of Jefferson law I think.
Feb 6, 2019 at 4:19 am #3577105What’s it like in Lassen at the moment, snow on the ground or no snow?
Feb 6, 2019 at 4:22 am #3577108Since we actually had snow overnight in Chico last night you can be assured there is a fair amount on the ground up there.
Feb 6, 2019 at 10:59 pm #3577248Sure. Love to join. I can bring a hammock, but will still be sleeping on the ground.
Feb 7, 2019 at 12:19 am #3577257I wish NorCal wasn’t so far from Phoenix.
::big sigh::
Feb 7, 2019 at 8:11 pm #3577384Theoretically yes, but realistically my calendar is pretty much locked up through June. (because I’ve somehow become one of those parents who’s life revolves around their child’s athletic stuff). I like the idea though. And I’d be willing to make the drive down sometime….
I’m also very curious to check out the Chameleon in person. Tanget: Which weight fabric did you get? My son loves my WBBB, so now I have an excuse to get a second hammock.
Feb 7, 2019 at 10:23 pm #3577400Katherine, I have the 1.6 fabric in the wide body.
Eng-Shien, thanks for that link you sent and of course if anyone wants to sleep on the ground, feel free.
Feb 7, 2019 at 10:30 pm #3577402Since there is interest I will put a more detailed plan up soon. Planning on heading to the vicinity this weekend and see what’s up.
Thanks everyone.
Feb 11, 2019 at 3:32 pm #3577900Headed up that way Saturday but the storm kept the visit short. Icy snow and 25 mph winds, brrr. About 8” of snow on the ground with more than a foot expected this week. Going to be a wet system. I’m just going to go ahead and work out details and watch the weather.
Mar 18, 2019 at 2:07 pm #3584176So much snow up there still. I have a nice little area picked out.
Mar 18, 2019 at 11:17 pm #3584346This sounds great Ken, count me in.
Apr 16, 2019 at 12:30 am #3588947June/July could be great for me.
