    I have no affiliation with Fire Maple.

    The Fire Maple Hornet II is a new canister topped stove that will be available in the US fairly soon, Fire Maple will continue to sell the Fire Maple 300t. The price point is about the same as the 300t: I purchased one for $32.95 with free shipping via AliExpress. The key improvements are a larger diameter pot support arm and increase power output. Another unique feature is they have designed a positive lock to set the pot support arms.

    Key Specs
    Material: Titanium/ Stainless Steel / Aluminum / Copper
    Power: 2.5kW ,179g/h,8531BTU/h
    Weight: 48.5g, 1.7oz
    Size: Unfolded: φ122*82mm, φ4.8*3.2in / Folded: φ50*80mm,φ2*3.1in;
    Boil Time: 3min 25sec per liter

    The Fire Maple Hornet is an upgrade from the 300t and is comparable to the Pocket Rocket 2 stove. If you’re looking for a new canister topped stove, its worth looking at. My 2 cents.

    How is it in the wind? Wind performance is my number one deciding factor. Poor wind performance isn’t worth even 2oz to me.

    I haven’t tested it yet.  The burner head is about 0.9″ away for the pot bottom which isn’t great.   I suspect that it will be similar to other canister topped stoves of this configuration: Fire Maple 300t, Pocket Rocket 2, BRS 300t.  There are a number of fair weather backpackers who will like this stove.  I do think that it is a better solution for people who use pots over mugs as the longer support arms are a win.   My 2 cents.

    I purchased it to see what it would take to wrap a windscreen around it.
