I’ve tried using the new trip report and it’s missing the insert image box.  Instead you have to download your photos, which would be fine BUT you have to resize them all!  I gave up, just took too long.

On the other hand, the “old” member’s trip report has the insert image box which makes it easy with already hosted photos.

Maybe someone can shed some light why that feature in not on the “new” Member’s Trip Report??

    Thanks

Hey Mike. We have logged a couple of previous requests to reconsider how images are handled on member trip reports. I’m not sure where that will fall in the next development cycle but it is in our radar and we would like to fix it.

Wow, understatement. People have been complaining about the sad implementation of trip reports since they were first enabled. Are inline images really that difficult to allow given that you can do it in forum posts?

My raising the issue from over a year ago: https://backpackinglight.com/forums/topic/no-inline-pics-in-trip-reports/

Mike, just post it in the forums.

Yeah kind of odd that you can insert a link, but not a photo (that’s already been resized).

If you want folks to use the “new” Trip Report, going to have to make it easier.

Until then, Phillip’s advice will be followed.
