Do a search for Reflectix pouch here. Basically you cut a rectangular piece and fold it up almost in half, to make an envelope, and tape the two sides with Reflectix tape. The extra at the top is your flap.

Years ago a Cub Scout, I think his name was Mikey, was selling them here via his BPL dad. I bought one from him. There’s a couple pictures on my blog here.

I had made several different Reflectix rehydration pouches and was generally happy with them…until I made one  of these. The improved thermal insulation of the blue foam is astounding. Now my food is still too hot to eat even after rehydrating for 20-30 min.  And it really does make a great coffee cup.  Only downside is it doesn’t pack flat so I just pack other things in it so no wasted space.  Never going back to Reflectix.

Forgot to mention I just put the freezer bag in the thermos…I hate doing dishes in camp.

Foil tape: I’ve used HVAC foil tape, like this.

For the cozy, be sure to use actual Reflectix brand and not just cut up a windshield sun visor, the true Reflectix is thicker and insulates better.

The tape is typically right next to the reflectix.
