Over the past six months I’ve been updating and upgrading my gear list meant for thru hikes and bigger mile days (25-35). In the last few years some great new pieces of gear have been released and I was really excited to rework my kit with the latest and greatest. The most notable change is a shift from SUL to UL. This was primarily because I wanted more durability from my gear and reduced mental stress from babying fragile materials.
I’ve written a short post, created an online, and pdf downloadable version of my gear list with links to each item, prices, and weights over on my blog: 2019 Ultralight Thru Hike Gear List
In case you’re wondering, I founded LiteTrail back in the day, and I’m re-uping it for my personal blog going forward. No physical products planned, just my personal content. I’m working on a set of photos that show each item, however, I’m sure most of you will know what’s what just by perusing the list.
