Some of you may know that I made a DIY adapter plate that allows a Fire Maple 300 to work with a Sterno Inferno mug. The results are excellent as the plate/HX combo works like a windscreen. The system is hyper efficient: I can boil 2 cups of 70 F water using 4 grams of fuel. In 2.7 mph winds, the consumption goes up to 6 grams.
I released a preliminary burner plate as a DIY project. I would like to do another revision to cover additional HX pots (possible universal) and this is where I could use your help. There are 3 key dimensions needed and they are listed below. I will post whatever I discover on this thread. Thanks in advance for your help
I am looking for information on the ID, OD and depth of your HXÂ mug
Jon – I have only a Sterno Inferno so can’t help with additional dimensions.
Your design looks strangely familiar…so of course it’s awesome.I thought I had posted pictures of this rig here on BPL somewhere but can’t seem to find them.
How thick is your baseplate? I used 1 mm Ti, but it is much thicker than it needs to be.
The first prototypes were 0.012″ Stainless Steel and I am making a sample this weekend out of 0.063″ aluminum. I am thinking that 0.020″ SS will work fine.
Thanks. Is it possible to check your numbers? Someone else sent me some dimensions and they are not aligned with your. There may have been a model changes over time? This is what I have:
IDÂ Â Â Â Â ODÂ Â Â Â Â Depth
3.11Â Â Â Â 3.54Â Â Â Â 0.73Â Â (first reponse)
2.5Â Â Â Â 3.625Â Â Â Â 1.25Â Â (your answer)
Thanks,
Jon
