I starting thinking (and tinkering) about Robert’s Esbit Stove design [BTW, thanks Robert]. I came up with this design and it seems to be working pretty well. It is a simple sheet metal folding job and not too bad to shape.
Robert’ stoves
Sheet metal stove/pot stand
The stove is made of 0.012” stainless steel and weighs 18 grams. I did a boil test using an MSR Titan Kettle and boiled 3 cups of water in about 12 minutes (with a windscreen) and burned for a few more minutes. The overall height is 2”, the inlet ports on the bottom are 0.1″ and the stove sits on a 3″ti disk.
BTW, Eric – before you ask, the stove is placed on a flat sheet about 3” in diameter and it does not need a lip or produce liquid. Since the inlet is at the bottom of the stove, it sweeps and burns all material towards the Esbit leaving little residual.
The print would come out better if we weren’t limited to a 1 MB file size
