That looks amazingly professional and awesome.  Hope you keep us updated on how it fares in battle.

Thanks for the kind words, Dan! You are correct, fly only and pretty much same dimensions as your 1P with just a few small tweaks.

There are some references to tape only zipper construction deep in the BPL archives. Based on my highly scientific and quantitative testing, it sticks really well! To both sides of the waterproof zipper actually. On my test pieces, the zipper teeth pulled apart before the seam failed, so I’ll call that good enough.

Yes, 1″ tape along all main seams, and 1/2″ around the perimeter. I see what you mean on the short side mid-panel tie outs – yes they are at the midpoint of the edge rather directly in line with the peaks, and yes they’ll only be used with shock cord connections to help keep everything tight in trying conditions. It’s pretty dang taut even without them, though. :)

Thanks, JCH! Will definitely report back after battle testing. 8 days on the Theodore Solomons Trail should give it a fair shakedown!

Here are a few more glamour shots, now that it’s 100% done with all tie outs, door toggles, etc.

First trip with the MYOG tent was a success! No precipitation, but a couple of gusty nights gave it a good stress test.

It is officially my go-to shelter :)
