The Backpackinglight deal: 20-day exclusivity to Backpackinglight readers to purchase a very limited-edition complete cooking system using a new Sterno Inferno HX mug ($120): I have a finite quantity of brands new mugs. After 20 days, this kit will be offered to the public. Buy it here.
This complete cooking system’s wind performs is at least twice as good as a JetBoil and rivals that of the MSR WindBurner. This lightweight system weighs 6.9 oz and has a pack volume of 61 Cubic inches (1 liter).

May 23, 2022 at 5:18 pm #3750222FYI – There are a totoal of 6 complete sets with maybe more on the way.
May 23, 2022 at 6:33 pm #3750224Please forgive me for not keeping up but how well does this kit pack? Can one get the parts and an isobutane canister inside the pot?
May 23, 2022 at 6:54 pm #3750226I just ordered a Caffin V6 stove.
What I need now is to somehow combine the features of my Caffin V6, with my old (still insanely light, sexy fat ass profile) BPL Firelite 1350ml Ti Pot, Hx, and Vargo Ti Bot 700 for cold soaking.
One can dream…
May 23, 2022 at 6:57 pm #3750227The parts easily nest in the mug. As assembled, a small gas canister will not fit; if you disaasemble the stove, it will fit. Should you disassemble the stove? Tough call, I don’t as I like to keep my system as simple as possible (no brain, no headache). That being said, several customers do. What is the downside? The Fire Maple comes with 2 brass nuts; if you lose one, you have a backup. Lose two and you’re dead in the water. There is a minor concern that if you tighten the nuts finger tight, they can looses due to the thermal cycling. I guess that it is customer’s choice.

May 31, 2022 at 10:49 am #3750734FYI – there are only 10 days left on theis exclusive BPL offer -Enjoy.
Jun 10, 2022 at 8:53 am #3751653The exclusive BPL offer ends today. After Noon (PST), the kit will offered to the general public: Cheetah Version 1 : The Full Monty
Jun 10, 2022 at 10:26 am #3751669Hey Jon, when the kit opens to the general public will it be up on your website? I was talking to a guy on instagram who was interested in an ultralight HX after coming across some of my stuff on the Joule Thief (but he wants one that actually exists on the market) so I recommended this kit to him without realizing it might not be available ATM.
Jun 10, 2022 at 10:50 am #3751672It will go live this weekend as the Cheetah: Full Monty.
May 4, 2023 at 5:32 pm #3780293FYI – There is a Sterno Inferno currently on eBay
May 12, 2023 at 2:32 pm #3781014I sent a Cheetah burner plate over to Ernie at Paleohiker MD about a year ago and he just got around to reviewing it. Half the weight of an MSR WindBurner and almost as efficient.
