Hello, just curious if anybody out there with a BRS 3000T stove knows if it’s normal for the flame to leak out from under/the side of the burner? Curious if it’s normal or if I got a bad one. Thanks.
May 23, 2020 at 9:00 pm #3648887That does not look good. I have had 4 of them and none look like that. My 2 cents
May 23, 2020 at 9:27 pm #3648889Mine doesn’t do that either.
May 23, 2020 at 9:38 pm #3648890Thanks, yeah I had a feeling that it’s not normal but thought I would check as I’ve never owned or used this stove before. The side flames get bigger and smaller at times and also pops up all around it at times, makes me think it’s leaking fuel out the sides and randomly catching.
Thanks for the input.

May 23, 2020 at 11:23 pm #3648895Definitely not normal. Might even be dangerous as a sign that the head is about to come off.
May 24, 2020 at 1:22 pm #3648968It’s not exactly fuel leaking out there. It’s a fuel-air mixture since it is after the mixing section.
But, yeah, I haven’t seen any of mine do that. At least I haven’t noticed it which I may well not have, since I only turn it up once a pot is on top.

That’s why I don’t like BRS3000s. Most of them work but a lot of reports of weird stuff.
I think maybe you just need to test one after you buy it to make sure it’s a good one.
Personally, I don’t want to rely on one of these period, too many weird stories, I guess I’m just conservative : )
May 24, 2020 at 5:24 pm #3649012Definitely NOT how it should work. I suspect that the crimp around the head was not done properly. The result could be dangerous.
Return it to the shop you got got from and ask for a refund or a replacement – before you get hurt.
Cheers
May 24, 2020 at 7:29 pm #3649025Thanks for all the reply’s. It was a new purchase from Amazon, so I will just return or exchange it. It’s not my only stove or my main stove. I purchased it to put together as a spare Set. I will give another one a shot, as I like the way it fits in a Toaks 550 with a small fuel canister , sure makes for a light compact cook set. Thanks again for the help.
May 24, 2020 at 9:00 pm #3649033Yikes! Definitely not how it was designed to work. Hopefully you’ll have a hassle-free exchange and your replacement will work as expected.
I’ve had the same BRS 3000T for years now and never had any problems, but you do have to be clear about its limitations: keep the burner at mid-output, don’t expect it to handle 1L+ pots, guard it from the wind, and all should be well.
May 27, 2020 at 8:25 pm #3649642Mine don’t do that but I doubt it’s hazardous.
There’s a lot of knockoffs out there…of even $10 items…
