“As I sat inside looking at the cheap construction of the cabinetry, I started to think about how I would have designed the interior, and how much more functional I could have designed and built a tiny Pop-up. And then a sudden flash of inspiration hit me — gut the trailer and start over!”

RVs are designed so poorly. They like to have things that look pretty when people walk through, deciding whether to buy. And features they can brag about. Customers like “bells and whistles” even if they’re not really that useful. They don’t care so much about using space efficiently.
I’d like to rip out the dinette and put in a real recliner but it annoys the wife when I say that : )
