This group of hikers cornered a huge moose while snow hiking
Watch the video to see what happenedJan 28, 2015 at 1:39 pm #2169011Wow. They seemed a lot less frightened than they should have been.
Jan 28, 2015 at 2:46 pm #2169037If it were the rutting season, or a female with calf, I'd be worried.
It looked as if – and they correctly sensed – the moose clearly was not charging them, just trying to get away. They never even stopped munching on their sandwiches. :^)
Jan 28, 2015 at 2:56 pm #2169041The wife and I saw a decent sized moose tucked in off the trail in the Maroon Bells last summer. We hung around a bit, not getting close and being quiet. It was awesome. But we didn't have sandwiches.
Feb 19, 2015 at 8:13 pm #2175933Haven't we all learned 1) don't speak French to a moose and 2) they get anxious around bagels?
Here's how to deal with moose in a calmer, more Alaskan manner:
Feb 19, 2015 at 8:17 pm #2175934Why did you link us to some coupon site instead of directly to the youtube video?
Feb 19, 2015 at 8:26 pm #2175936Yeah that video was in the weekly digest here a few weeks back. Your other thread got edited for it's commercial manner.
Your surf slop should be posted in On the Web anyway.
Feb 19, 2015 at 8:28 pm #2175938Justin: Many of Mike Blarowki's posts are commercial links designed to get traffic at Backcountry's website. Moderator Roger has noticed and is deleting that portion of some of the posts.
Mike doesn't seem to grasp that posting blatantly commercial links contrary to BPL policy develops ill-will among those forum members who notice.

Yes, my computer's security software warned me that I didn't want to go there.
Mike doesn't care.

I have noticed, and deleted, and advised Mike Blarowski.Cheers
Feb 20, 2015 at 12:36 pm #2176106I just looked through a bunch of Mike's old posts and almost all of them are links to the BC25 site. He has been posting those links for 3 years.
I'm assuming he is making money when people use those coupons?Mar 4, 2015 at 5:30 pm #2180019Guys, sorry for not being fully transparent. Roger has suggested that I make my Locale (under my profile) show that I own and run the bc25.com website. The site has been up for over 3 years and it's a work of passion for me.
I also included more information in my bio and I'm buying the lifetime membership to support BPL which I really like and appreciate.
Next time I want to post a video I will take you guys straight to Youtube :-)
