I've got two tears in my Atlas shoes, found out they don't warranty decking- any suggestions on repair?
I'm going to guess patching it like you would a whitewater raft. Same material isn't it pretty much?
Perhaps this will help.
thanks Ken, the tears are on the edge and moving towards the frame- I took a sail needle and some 24 gauge stainless wire and "sewed" the tear and then covered it up liberally w/ Gorilla tape. Kind of a shame that no one (Atlas or their repair centers) would even consider replacing the decking if needed- would seem wasteful to throw away a pair of shoes where the bindings and frames were in tact. here's hoping it will hold :)
Our disposable society at work. Good luck.
Could the decking be replaced? Hypalon sheets are relatively inexpensive.
I say this not knowing how it is attached to the frame.
the decking could definitely be replaced, but would take some expertise/specialized tools to get it right- thus my disappointment that neither Atlas or it's authorized repair centers would do so-even on my dime :(
