I am contemplating bringing my Tenkara kit (around 7 ounces) but I am not sure if there will even be a chance to fish the trail. But I know I would be very distraught to see a trout and not be able to fish for it. Did you guys see much fishable water on your previous philmont treks?
Depends on your Trek. I was at Fish Camp in 2010 and we saw no fish in the water. I assume you are contemplating catch and release. When the boys asked if they could eat what they caught the rangers said no. Remember you need a New Mexico fishing license.
