Saw these packs in OdBox when I was in Tokyo at Christmas/NY. "Yamatomichi" means "mountain and road/path"

    Yamatomichi Mini X-Pac

Exquisite quality. Because these particular packs were called the Mini I deduced that there might be a larger version too:

    UL FramePack One

    Lots of colour variations available:

Weights for the large pack vary between 511g and 593g (35 – 52l), weights for the small pack are 302g for 25L

    VERY nice packs!
Am I converting the price right for the U.L.FramePack ONE ? 37,800.00 JPY = 365.90 USD???? Ouch! Little pricey…and that's without shipping. Maybe a group buy would help to reduce some of the cost?

That price conversion looks right. The yen is pretty strong against the USD these days.

I met the couple behind this company last September when we were all thruhiking the JMT. They were wearing their own shorts, summit bags, and backpacks, all of which were performing beautifully and looking great. They are really devoted to UL backpacking and have such great style. They are eager to learn more about backpacking culture in the US, so it's been fun to exchange FB posts with them, though there is a bit of a language barrier. Loved meeting them and am saving up to start collecting some of their gear.

Have you had any experience with their sleeping pads? I'm curious how they compare to other foam pads in warmth/weight. I use a short Ridge Rest currently and their 175cm long pad is half the weight for almost full body coverage.

I really, really want to buy these items…
I can’t find them online though. I suppose i’ll start learning to sew.

Sold out of everything and copyright is still shown as 2011. Anyone know what is going on with them?

Gee, I wonder where they got the clever design/materials idea for their packs?? (Surely not from US cottage industry designers….  ;o)

Those are sexy packs.  I like how they took a traditional top lid and put it on the front.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a design like that.  It’s good thing they are sold out and I don’t read Japanese or my wallet would’ve gotten lighter.  :)
