I do not understand why MSR do not sell a lid for either the Quick or Flex skillet as a lid would make both of these pans so much more versatile.

I looked around for anything that could be used to improvise a lid for the Quick skillet but found nothing – the Snowpeak Ti plate came close but it's just too deep.

With no easier alternative, I made a lid from 0.8mm aluminium sheet, using the technique I previously described here.

Sure it's not UL (skillet, lid and handle total 234g), but it is multi-use: one utensil which is wide enough to cook flatbread, frybread, frittata, quesadilla, pizza, pancakes and griddle scones and yet is deep enough for the usual paella, pilaf, dahl, porridge etc.

Your link is broken . . but I managed to get to your old thread anyway . Nice technique! How much does the lid weigh? I might have to do this for a pot I have – right now I'm using folded up aluminum foil (8 layers), which actually works surprisingly well, but would probably blow away in a decent wind.

The lid by itself weighs 68g.
Knocking up a lid is not difficult, but it is one of those things which takes a technique/skill which you have to learn as you go. Persevere with patience as your friend.

Old Thread but I recently found a solution.  The Evernew 153 (#18) lid fits perfectly onto the MSR Quick Skillet.  Pricey at $30 and weighs 2.5 oz.  That being said, a lid really increases the functionality of a fry pan.  My 2 cents.
