In some terrains, I continually get pebbles or bits of plant matter in my shoes.
Takee a dress sock, cut two holes on either side of the toe, making essentially a stirrup. Put it on, putting your foot through one hole, put on shoe, pull stirrup part under arch of foot. It trashes the sock, but hey, they're dress socks.
