I am currently eyeing the enlightened equipment revelation x quilt 20 degree, and was wondering if i should get a regular, wide (78 inches), or the long, wide (84 inches). I am 6 foot, 220 pounds with pretty broad shoulders. I was wanting to know if people prefer the extra length for those colder than expected nights where you can pull the bag up over your face and head. Any input is appreciated.

Aug 24, 2013 at 6:17 pm #2018310You would get more responses in the gear forum, this isn't really the best place for this type of question.
Aug 24, 2013 at 8:29 pm #2018347Might as well give it up Ken, seems like some people either don't know how to read, aren't paying attention, or just don't care.
Aug 24, 2013 at 8:31 pm #2018349You would think it being an online forum that people would guess that some reading might be necessary.
I have the free time.
Aug 24, 2013 at 9:01 pm #2018359I do know how to read, do care, but am new to the site, so am still figuring things out. You think people would be more respectful, advice giving, and helpful to those who are not as experienced on a forum as some others may be. I appreciate those who were respectful in their reply, and thank you for telling me where my post should be respectively. And for those who were not, I hope you can find some other post to reply to negatively to feed your appetite for discontent. I do believe it may have been easier for you to not comment at all. Good day sir.
Aug 24, 2013 at 9:09 pm #2018365Whoa. Don't get in a wad. Curious and I mean this with all due respect…
How did you come to decide to post your question in this forum? It has been many a year since my first post and don't recall how I did it. We have had a rearrangement in the forum index recently. Since then quite a number of new posters have posted in this one. I just wonder how and why.
I'd go with the bigger quilt myself.
Better?
Aug 24, 2013 at 9:20 pm #2018369Definitely go with the long you will appreciate it.
Aug 24, 2013 at 9:53 pm #2018383Thanks, I suppose I did get a bit worked up there. I apologize for that. I believe that the reason I posted here first, was because it said support forum. I will definitely be paying more attention to where I make a post. I have since posted this in gear as you all have suggested, and hope it will get some response. But from the ones here so far, it seems like I will be getting the long.

With all due respect, all it takes to "figure out" which form to post to is slowing down for a moment and paying attention, so being "new" has nothing to do with it.
Also, for future reference, when somebody catches you doing something dumb (and we all do/say dumb things from time to time), it's generally a lot more productive to respond with something apologetic that includes a good-natured acknowledgment of your mistake. Something like "Oh man! What was I thinking? My brain must have shut off for a moment! Sorry about that guys!," will do a lot more to endear you to any community than getting defensive and responding with a hasty (and transparent) excuse. Remember; you were the one who made the mistake, not them, and this was *their* community long before it was yours. If you get pissy, it only serves to make people resent you even more.
This post is just a friendly tip to help you integrate into the community. You should take it in the spirit in which it was intended. Good luck.
Aug 28, 2013 at 2:29 pm #2019583Oh yeah, it is really dumb that he posted his gear related post in this sub forum….haha what an IDIOT.
How dare he get upset for being called illiterate or lazy! I mean its barely even his forum….
Geeze give it a rest. It really isn't a big deal, and his reply wasn't really out of proportion. He doesn't owe anyone an apology for the simple mistake. It seemed to have worked itself out long before you decided to give your public feedback.
Aug 29, 2013 at 8:24 pm #2020003Thank you James for your kind words and consideration. I really thought this issue was resolved,as I re-posted this thread in the proper forum, but apparently it hasn't been. I am actually pretty surprised that it has caused the scene that it has up until now. But like I said before, I appreciate those who were able to respectfully point me in the right direction. Although, I was initially a bit taken aback by some of the replies that have displayed regarding this post. I came here seeking advice, information, and ideas to help me further enjoy my backpacking experience. Thankfully, besides this little incident, I have experienced just that.
Aug 29, 2013 at 8:39 pm #2020006Oh and by the way, it is only polite to have some type if title in your post header.
. is lame. It's hard to click on when viewing with a phone too.
You'll never be able to find a specific post in your profile either.
Food for thought.
Aug 29, 2013 at 8:44 pm #2020009Thank you, I will remember that. I am getting there, slowly maybe, but all the same. Ha! I can't be getting a reputation as lame now. I appreciate the tip.
Aug 29, 2013 at 9:50 pm #2020029I don't think Ken was addressing you with that..
Aug 30, 2013 at 3:51 am #2020064Yeah, everything was figured out. I am thankful for the advice that was given, and am really enjoying the site now. Very helpful.
