We'd like to publish stories about your scariest moments in the backcountry. But don't stop by just telling us the story, teach us lessons that you've learned, too, and let us know what you might do different in reaction to the drama, or what you might do in the future to mitigate the drama.
Your essay should be submitted via our Story Proposal Submission Form, but instead of entering an "Abstract" submit the entire text of your essay.
Due Date: June 30, 2013
Essay length should be less than 1,000 words, and include a photo of the author and a brief bio/link to author's blog/website. Each essayist that's published will receive an honorarium of $25 for their contribution.
