Good choice, Captain. Except I always saw you as a sort of Major–as in, you're full of major funkism.
And trail names can come from almost anywhere, not just on the AT. After that momma moose got in my face in GNP and sprayed moose-spit on me, a guy back at the ranger station called me the "Mooseman." It had to stick, since I'd never actually had a trail name before, and since I've had 8-10 other not so charming moose experiences since then.
But really, we here on BPL could just as well decide upon a trail name for you (you don't get to pick your own trail name). From what I understand, it usually comes form some sort of deciding experience, but I could be wrong. So my challenge to ya'll here on this fine forum with crappy software, let's have a project–we'll come up with potential trail names for our favorite cheesehead, cast our votes, and christen him ___?___. And it will have to stick, because there's nothing he can do about it.
And really, if you are going with the new user name, you need to change your avatar over to something like Doug's, don't ya think?
Mar 18, 2013 at 8:50 pm #1967265I think we should come up with a trail name for Nick
Maybe Ayn Man?
Mar 18, 2013 at 8:55 pm #1967267Gary,
Na, I'll change back to my real name soon enough. Just havin' a bit of late-winter fun.Mar 18, 2013 at 9:03 pm #1967276I see, you're up to some funky tricks tonight, T-man (and you too, Doug). But still, we WILL choose a trail name for you, you can bet on it.
Mar 18, 2013 at 9:35 pm #1967291Will the real Nick Gatel please stand up?
This is going to be fun. We can confuse the hell out of the newcomers.
Mar 18, 2013 at 9:38 pm #1967292Nice one, Craig!
Mar 18, 2013 at 9:46 pm #1967296If I change my name to Bob Gross would that be confusing? Ken can change his to Ryan Jordan. Oooo… Max can change his to Roger Caffin. Tom can change his to Dean F, and Dean can change his to Roger Tallbloke. eric chan can change his to EE CUMMINGS.
You guys really, really need to get out more often in winter.

Mar 18, 2013 at 10:27 pm #1967309Too subtle. I say either use Ryan Jordan or Roger Caffin. :)
Mar 19, 2013 at 8:28 am #1967406GEORGE: Excuse me. Can I talk to you for a second there, Watkins?
George and Watkins stand just outside the conference room talking.
WATKINS: It's T-bone.
GEORGE: The thing is…I'm supposed to be T-bone.
WATKINS: Heh heh. You're not a T-bone. You're a perfect George.
GEORGE: What? Now, you listen to me!
Kruger and a few other people watch George through the window of the conference room door.
KRUGER: Hey, look at George. He's givin' it to T-bone. He's jumpin' up and down like some kind of monkey. Hey, what was the name of that monkey that could read sign language?
WATKINS: All right, you can have T-bone. Stop crying.
GEORGE (sniffling): I'm not crying.
Watkins and George enter the conference room.
GEORGE: Ok, everybody, uh…I have an announcement to make. From now on, I will be known as-
KRUGER: Koko the monkey.
GEORGE: What?
ALL (chanting): Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko! Koko!
