Is it me or have the last few weeks been really slow loading? Firefox seems to be a bit worse than Chrome but both are slow.
Dec 21, 2012 at 6:21 pm #1937307Things seem to have speeded up a bit since I got off to feed my dog and fix my own dinner. Definitely faster than Oregon fauna now!
Dec 21, 2012 at 7:02 pm #1937315Ah, It should be in this sub-forum though since it is an issue not a "test"
either way, regardless of what Roger's response was there it's BPL that is slow when other pages are working just fine. he can try to use a lot of IT jargon to push people away but i'm not convinced.
90's infrastructure, 90's server speed, empty home page… are they trying to avoid new users from joining?
Dec 22, 2012 at 2:30 pm #1937455Forum is back to normal speed again — first time in a week or more!! Better late than never, I suppose. Thank you, BPL.
Dec 22, 2012 at 4:00 pm #1937481"Forum is back to normal speed again"
It is, except for when it is not. The response time is still inconsistent. That is another sign that it is server overload and not a congested link to it.

Dec 23, 2012 at 7:04 am #1937618Yep, back to being slow again.
Dec 23, 2012 at 1:34 pm #1937739Yeah, it's been really slow for quite some time now — and then it suddenly speeded up almost to normal last night — I thought it was a fix — but alas, no. Now back to slow again.
Is BPL looking into this at all? A response would be appreciated.
Dec 26, 2012 at 7:06 pm #1938447There is another thread of nearly identical topic taking place here – it just got posted to the wrong forum category.
Dec 26, 2012 at 7:10 pm #1938449"it just got posted to the wrong forum category."
Actually, John, it didn't. It was posted to the User Test Forum as a test.
I don't think that anybody from BPL management reads this stuff anyway.

Dec 27, 2012 at 10:27 am #1938594Also John that link was the 2nd post in this thread. That was a test, this is a long shot hope they will find the issue and fix it
Dec 27, 2012 at 10:42 am #1938599…see, I was testing this to test all of you if you were paying attention….
/slaps myself on head

Come on BPL, you have PAYING customers. Fix it.
Jan 1, 2013 at 7:19 pm #1940037Must be the year 2013 bug. :P
Jan 3, 2013 at 7:20 am #1940491even trying to respond is so sssssslllllloooooowwww
Jan 3, 2013 at 7:35 am #1940492It now become the web site with the worst use experience that I am surfing to these days. With such grade of service, it would cause the long term financial problem to the management, so better act faster to solve the problem.

They already have our money, Nick. :(
Jan 3, 2013 at 4:08 pm #1940601Aha!
I just figured out why Ryan Jordan no longer posts here or even reads the forum posts. This site is too slow for him too.
:)
Jan 3, 2013 at 4:18 pm #1940607I've been wondering how many of the new forum memberships have been purchased. And what the status is on the site upgrade.
Can of worms? What can of worms?
Jan 3, 2013 at 4:19 pm #1940608Since we should all know by know that this forum is for members to help other members with problems. Has anyone emailed Ryan about this issue? After last year I'll let someone else do it.
Jan 3, 2013 at 4:27 pm #1940614"Has anyone emailed Ryan about this issue?"
I don't see anyplace on the home page where he lists his public email address. By the same token, I can certainly understand why he doesn't list it. I would be dodging the public also if I managed things like this.
Part of the problem is that the slowness is very inconsistent. It is rather hard to solve a problem if you can't consistently reproduce it. That brings us to the shotgun approach to problem solving.

Jan 3, 2013 at 5:13 pm #1940629Jan 3, 2013 at 5:18 pm #1940634It certainly seems like most of you guys have invested money in this venture, so I'm sure that he will listen to his investors before just another guy off the street.
