On a recent trip in the Citico Creek Wilderness just south of the Smokies in Tennessee a friend and I saw what seemed to be dozens of different mushrooms and fungi out. I haven't got a fungi field guide (yet) so I don't know their names but sometimes all the little things that you see along the trail are just as interesting as the great big views. Enjoy.
Some of those look to be edible…But i have never picked mushroom in North America and would not risk it. In Europe though i would be picking them on the way and cooking up some tasty dishes…
