Ok, the waterproof material I got is 2.2 oz/sqyd so I think it's probably 1.9 oz silicone coated ripstop. Should be good for some pack parts and maybe some other stuff.
i just got 10 yards of 48" grey sil a few days ago. i made a groundsheet, MLD pro-poncho style poncho, and a nice summer SUL pack with 7 ft left over!. I'll post pics when my batteries charge!
Great thread!! I just scored on some gray silnyl at walmart and bought 7.5 yds at $1.50 a yd. I want to make a similar shelter that compares to this Kifaru paratipi and put a stove jack in it.
