Mar 7, 2010 at 8:28 am #1583146I slept up at Wanda Lake on my JMT solo a few years ago.
The entire night was filled with vivid dreams of gigantic alien rock-like pods sitting in the cold blue depths of the lake. Throughout the night they were calmly whispering to me, telepathically I suppose, in a language I couldn't understand. They did convey that that the water in the high lakes was important, even sacred, to them. Something in the dream told me that they had been there for thousands upon thousands of years, laying dormant, simply waiting us out, passing the centuries in a bid to eventually inherit the Earth.
Bizarre, I know.
Can't wait to go back to see what else the dreams there bring…my favorite area of the JMT by far.Mar 7, 2010 at 10:00 am #1583168Muir Hut, June 25, 2006. 6:30 am.
