Sep 30, 2008 at 7:04 pm #1452814Very creative!! How is the condensation? Is it stuffy-humid?
Sep 30, 2008 at 7:13 pm #1452815AnonymousInactiveFantastic! 3 man tent at 23 ozs.
Sep 30, 2008 at 7:38 pm #1452819At first glance this shelter reminds me of the GG "The One", so I guess it could be called a "Ty One" (or Ty One On).
Very nice, I would be interested in seeing more pictures.
Sep 30, 2008 at 8:18 pm #1452828Thank you for comment
This tent is for one person
Most of the dew condensation did not have a problem at time that I spent
This Tyvek is a model saying Tyvek® HouseWrap by a Japanese name.(http://tyvek.co.jp/construction/product/housewrap/)
The form imitated Gossamer Gear The OneOct 1, 2008 at 8:37 am #1452866AnonymousInactiveI believe you can significantly reduce the weight of the shelter by using the clothing grade of Tyvek rather than house wrap.
Oct 1, 2008 at 11:33 am #1452887I tested Tyvek pants and jackets today and was quite surprised by the waterproofness. I don't think it would hold up forever but for a light rain, it's probably enough.
Oct 1, 2008 at 11:58 am #1452894There are very good conversations on Tyvek here, but our language could improve. (My language is certainly lacking in this area.)
Johnk,
Are you suggesting type 14 (soft)?Johannb,
Is your experience with type 16 (soft perforated)?Oct 1, 2008 at 12:27 pm #1452899AnonymousInactiveI am sorry, I don't recall the type. It was mentioned several times in the multiple discussions regarding the new Tyvek tent by Tarptent. This new tent which I have experience with uses a type of Tyvek that is very similar to that used in safety clothing but slightly heavier.
Oct 1, 2008 at 1:07 pm #1452906Probably type 16. I bought some industrial Tyvek jackets and pants. They have a perforated inner liner.
Oct 1, 2008 at 4:48 pm #1452922Unfortunately it is difficult to obtain many kinds of Tyvek in Japan.
In addition, it is tTyvek for material for agriculture.
There is the jacket, but is not available for material
