I got back from my Colorado Trail hike last week and I wanted to post a few photos here. I would like to do a full trip report eventually but I am going to busy the next few weeks planning my next hike (hopefully).
I started June 22nd in Denver and got off the trail July 6th near Buena Vista. I had originally planned on hiking for another two weeks but the trip took a lot more out of than I thought it would so I decided to get off the trail.
Hiking thru the Buffalo Creek burn area on the second day.
Lost Creek valley
Heading towards the divide and georgia pass
Climbing towards the crest of the Ten Mile Range
Nice meadow on the way out of Copper Mountain
Mount of the Holy Cross on the western horizon
Mount Elbert (left) and Mount Massive (far right) from the shores of Twin Lakes
Harvard Lakes in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness
Mt Princeton and the lower Arkansas Valley, In the distance there is rainstorm passing over the northern Sangre de Cristo range
Good photos!!!!!! Are you a cartographer? I did my trail maintenance in Segment 12 then picked up my 76 year old friend at the Avalanche Trailhead on July 6.
Small world?
My avatar was taken on Waverly Ridge July 6.
