In the beginning, there was a sign.

Then there was another sign, showing us the way.

    Then there was a hiker.

    How'd they get here?

    Lot'z o land, little time.

The other side of lot'z o land.

    A little bit o shade.

    Yes, she made it through!

Sooo, why do we need to move on?

How'd the dark clouds get here?

Look close at the boulder, you'll see the nose -n- right eye.

Yep, we scrambled down those rocks.

Of course this is the Wilburn Ridge trail - rock on!

Now, it's down hill the rest of the hike.

The top of Wilburn Ridge trail. The End!

Your photos brought back fond memories. Mt. Rogers was one of my favorite hikes when I lived there.

    Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome! My wife and I are looking forward to going back next year. How long ago were you there?

Nice shots. Fond memories of that area as well. My favorite part of the AT south of New Hampshire and some of the most scenic hiking on the east coast IMO. Thanks for posting.

Here's a shot from Grayson Highlands in '05.

LOVE that area. I've hiked there winter and summer about 5 times. One of the best hikes I've ever taken was Fox Creek to Damascus on the AT (40 miles and change). I think so much of the area that I took my daughter (5 years of age) there on her first ever overnighter (the 1st hike has to be great or they'll never come back). We have the best photos and video of her with the ponies and the most thrilling thing was having a small heard run between our tents at 5am while my daughter poked her head out to watch. Always love to see Grayson and Rogers photos. Thanks!
