I think this is less of an issue for speed hiking / fast packing than with trail running, because often people take a bit more gear. An article about hypothermia and it's signs. What do you bring and any (near-) hypothermic experiences? link (edit – stupid thread title by the way, I had two mild hypothermic experiences, both at higher altitude in the summer, not when climbing in the Mt Blanc.)
