Thanks. The trail had several kilometers of snow going up to the hut and down the other side. The snow was fairly compact varying from hard to sinking several inches. No traction devices were needed.
The first day going up the weather turned misty with lowered visibility but not near white out. You could see at least 600 meters away and that was how I could see the hut from the trail junction.
