I'm hooked on hammocks! It has been a delight to discover just how light my pack can be while still enjoying the sleeping comfort of a hammock. On this SuperUltraLight backpacking trip, I experimented with hammock warmth systems with a stock Hennessy Hammock Adventure Racer and a prototype Adventure Racer with sewn in bottom insulation. My route was a 42-mile loop on the Black Forest Trail in the Tiadaghton State Forest in north-central Pennsylvania. I thoroughly enjoyed the ups and downs of this non-rocky trail through a hardwood forest. I only wish the weather hadn't been so nice since it limited my gear testing. Wildlife sightings: deer - 9, rattlesnakes - 0, raccoons - 1, bears - 2.
