Notes from the Field – Bushwhacking Trousers

Sometimes we go off-trail, through the scrub and forest, and that sometimes the scrub can be a little harsh, making much available ultra-lightweight gear unsuitable for off-trail use. For this article I had thought to survey available clothing, especially trousers, but I found that there didn’t seem to be very much which is suitable for real bushwhacking. There’s a certain amount of ‘tough’ clothing available, but the manufacturers seem to have their eyes firmly fixed on the mass market of street and fashion clothing.
