Pack purchased November 2011. No holes in mesh/pack body or stitching failures. Used deflated thermarest pad in addition to aluminum stay. This was my primary pack until late 2015, and use after that, was for winter trips, where but bulk of load necessitated more space.
Stock sternum strap has been replaced with Mountain Laurel Designs Sternum Strap (better strap IMHO).
- 4200 cubic inches (includes main body, all pockets and expansion collar)
- Weight as configured – 1 lb, 13 oz (on my scale)
- Medium hip belt (includes hip belt pockets)
- Aluminum stay
- No hydration sleeve
Price does not include shipping, the final price will be asking price + shipping.
Shipping cost will be determined on destination with zip code.
The buyer will be provided the shipping cost before committing to purchase.

Hi. I had my eye out fit a ULA Catalyst but this could do the trick for heavier trips with my family. Any idea how much it would cost to ship to Ventura, CA 93001?
Elliott – shipped via USPS it would be $63.00. However I want to tell you I own a Catalyst and if you are looking for the ability to carry a heavier load for a pack with this capacity, I would tell you to get the Catalyst. I have used the Catalyst most of the time since 2015, and other than an occasional winter trip where my weight is not the issue, but bulk of the equipment is in play. In this case the Starlite seems to hold the extra bulk better. But overall, I prefer the Catalyst, which is why I am letting the SMD Starlite go.
Let me know if you have any questions or are still interested despite the shipping cost.
Thank you.
Tom
