Always annoying especially as phone cameras produce such high quality pics! Open the file with the default photo viewer app in windows and click the 3 dots at the when viewing the photo. You select resize image and move the quality bar until the size is under 1000kb. Or use the snipping tool to take a screen shot and save as a jpg. That should make the pics smaller.
