I have 2 bivy’ made from Impitus 1.0

Great material as it is fairly breathable and creates its own bairier between it and the quilt fabric. It is however not very water resistant so it’s just really good as a top material.

Looking to make 2 bivy’s out of Membrane .93 for the bottom, sides and around the feet and top/ head portion.

So my question is, what’s the narrowest width and length of a strip of the Impitus can I can get away with without having mass amount of sweat build up from the Membrane being on top???

I’m hoping I could get away with a 12″ (tapered to 10″ at the feet) strip by 60″ long.   The feet and head would have 1 foot of full coverage from the top and bottom with the Membrane.

Looking for this bivy to assist with rain in a minimal tarp.

In my experience, the waterproof material should only go about 1 inch above the ground.  If it goes up the sides further, sweat will condense there.
