I think Luke Schmidt just weighed his (large) at yesterday at 44 oz. Could pm to confirm, but I think that’s what he has.

Yeah mine is 42-44 oz on my scale. I called Kokatat by the way and they said it was the lightest DRY suit they sell. Some of their paddling suits might be lighter but I’m not sure by how much. You’d want to change out the neck gasket on those if you were doing whitewater. According to Forest McCarthy the “Lightweight Goretex Paddling Suit” is 35 oz. I’d switch if it was that much lighter. But a more recent reviewer on REI said he weighed on and it was 39 oz.

I wore mine today sea kayaking here in Kodiak on what was FINALLY a sunny, calm day. Yeesh, what a crappy winter we have had.

It’s a nice suit. A note on sizing: I’m 5′ 11″ and 190 lbs, size 11.5 foot.. I have a size large Kokatat Expedition drysuit and this size medium Hydrus 3L, and I think the medium fits me better. I’m at the upper end of the medium sizing scale, but it’s less baggy and the feet fit better. Also, the 3-layer Hydrus is a lot nicer than the 2-layer (“Tropos”) stuff which seems to really accentuate condensation. Neither breathes as well as Gore Tex, but the 3 layer isn’t bad and is significantly cheaper, and the plastic zippers work fine.
