I have used my MSR Guardian water purifier on absolutely crappy water without problems. Great for group backpacking trips. Expensive and heavy, but high flow rate and complete reliability offset this for group use in the backcountry.

Don’t overlook the value of a “tent bottle” for midnight pees. Just get something with a large mouth and ample capacity. Beats going out into the snow or rain, disturbing your site-mates, and messing up the area around the tent!

Having very positive initial results with the “Scrubba” laundry washing bag so far this summer over numerous trail days. You can effectively get that fresh laundry feel on all but the stiffest socks in the backcountry.

I just weighed my Hydro Blu Versa Flow water filter. It weighs 87 g. (3 oz), not the 2 oz as advertised on Garage Grown Gear.
