    Hey All!

I would like to add possibly as much as two inches of material to the legs of my (too short) Vertice Rain pants?  Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Proper material??

Also, if I were to  simply un-stitch the 3/4″ hem of the Vertice pants for a small gain in length are they likely to fray like crazy??

Taller than last week, .d :)

If you unstitch the cuffs you can sew seam binding around the raw edge to prevent fraying.

If you need extra fabric, RBTR has some. It doesn’t have a tricot liner like the Zpacks fabric, but would perform similarly. Since both are laminated products, I would guess they are unlikely to unravel. If you add additional material, I’d recommend a felled seam with the fell folded downward, so the rain will roll over the seam rather than getting stuck in the seam fold.

Just wear longer gaiters and it’s not a problem.

I second the gaiters comment if you are actually into wearing gaiters. I am not – if I was faced with the choice, I’d likely try to sell the short pants gear in the FS section and get some longer ones if possible. But I can appreciate not wanting to size up if the length is the only issue. Generally sizing up for me means balloon pants.
