    I decided this year to try out Bikepacking. Fairly easy transition from UL backpacking, with the big ticket item being the bike and rig, worth a try if you’re up for something that is certainly exciting.

    I found an old rail line on a map up here from Algonquin Provincial Park. I did extensive research and found it was essentially abandoned. We spent 3 days biking 115 km across the park on the old CN railway, and wow was it a blast. Made a video for your viewing pleasure.

    Thanks, nice trip and video

    I don’t know why the authorities want to close abandoned roads like that.  Not that much effort to make them passable to bikes and humans

    @ian Thanks man! I sometimes wonder if anyone else gets some of my humour… :)

    @jerry
    I know what you mean. I’m aware of all the reasons for it being left as is, but I do wish they would open it for all to enjoy.

    at least get rid of the threatening signs : )

    I assume they want them closed because people trash them which has to be cleaned up occasionally

    How cool. Not only the adventure but the video you put together. Both are inspiring.

    @jerry That is one of the reasons, basically, they don’t know how they would manage the additional impact of people. But mostly it’s because the park and the railroad cannot agree to the terms of the ownership transfer.

    @katt Thanks! I work hard on the videos, and to be honest, other than people letting me know they like them, there is little reward. So it is greatly appreciated.

    Your spirit comes through and that is fun to watch. I hope you record more of your trips and share them.
