Night hiking, 3 sets of glowing eyes staring us down, a short slip down the side of a climb, a sweet bivy camp on a beautiful lake…
Enjoyed your video. Great views. Good shots of you shelters, packs, cooking. Loved the slow-mo flames from the camp fire. Happy trails,
Thankyou. He is fairly new to backpacking and slowly acquiring the necessary gear needed. This was his first time using the new pack, GG G4-20, the air pad.. which Neoair X therm. Funny story there.. he went to REI not sure what to get. I mentioned the XLITE pad.. they somehow managed to sucker him into buying the X Therm!!! It was also his first time using that Borah Gear tarp. He did pitch it in his yard 1 time before, as per my request. Told him he was not coming out with me until I saw a picture of it set up in his yard. Since we would be hiking in at night, possibility of rain showers and a little breezy, I did not want to get stuck having to set it up for him. Luckily, the weather was perfect and no tarps were needed, but I still had him throw his up so I could check it out and he could get the practice needed. So, that explains the rough pitch of the tarp. He needs to make some adjustments on the 4 corners.. and needs practice.. but hey.. he will get there!
Great video as always, glad you and a friend got out to enjoy some fall backpacking.
Thank you Hopearotie!! Next up winter!! Hopefully we get hammered with a few good blizzards and my timing is right so I get buried out there again!!
