Suggestions 4-5 days, Colorado area

I’m hoping for some suggestions on a bail out plan. We are currently scheduled to hit the Wind River Range (Island Lake, Fremont Peak out of Elkhart Park) for a 5 day trip starting 9/13.  Weather that week should be okay, but we’re starting to see snow in the forecast.  If we get serious weather and end up snowed out, I’d like a backup plan.

The group of us is flying into Denver, and renting a car from there.  We’d probably like to keep the drive to 10 hours or less. The more remote the better. Anyone have any favorites that we should check out?
