    @taspai

    Hi everyone !

    I have a chrome barrage cargo (https://www.chromeindustries.com/product/barrage-cargo-backpack/BG-163.html) since 2 years now, I love it because it’s strong and waterproof, it’s made of 1050D nylon and 22oz 1000D TPE Tarp. I use it in daily life but also during traveling and hiking.

    The negative point is that it’s not made for hiking and I’m traveling / hiking with a lot of photographic material  so at least 10kgs of stuff with water etc.

    So now I’m planning to make my own backpack ! My plan is to make almost the same bag but with some comfort. So I plan to use the same materials, the same rolltop opening, replace the « cargo net » by this kind of holder : ( https://pin.it/2raowiN )  and add a roll opening on the bottom side to have a second access to what I have inside as the camera bag because I find it usefull. To protect this second roll opening I plan to add a zip opening on top of it.
    Here is my small drawing of it : ( https://pin.it/3oV8Lhx  )

    I’m planning to change a little bit the form of the backpack to make it a little bit wider and higher to have a little bit more of volume.

    I also plan to have a hip belt and shoulder straps with considerable amount of foam and width for the weight distribution.
    I’m also thinking to put a small light frame to the bag to have the hip belt well involved in the weight support but I don’t have much ideas on how to do so as I didn’t find a lot of examples.

    I hope what I wrote is understandable as it’s clear in my head ahah

    All your ideas, suggestions, links and overall experience is welcome in this thinking process !
