    Hi all
I tried snow shoe and camping in Yosemite (starting from Badger) a few times and it’s great, wondering if anyone has recommendations for easy routes around Sequoia and Kings Canyon. bummed that my summer permit was canceled since they are still digging from last winter so hope to make it up with some winter camping

How far and high do you want to go? I have enjoyed the Lake & Hump Trail from the parking lot at the end of Wolverton Road to Moose Lake and back down. It’s about 8 miles in and 3,300′ up. You can also stop at Pear Lake about 1/2 way in and 2,300′ up. And places in between.

If you can use skis you will have a much better time and move a lot faster, especially coming back down. And use the skis and poles for tent stakes.

I spent a new years camping in Kings Canyon. Ended up with the worst case of poison oak I ever had. Spent a week in the hospital with my face swollen up and squinting out of 1 eye.

Poison oak will lose its leaves in the fall so it’s harder to recognize. It’s just bare vines. I think I got it collecting firewood.
