    @koffar

    Im really interested in the new Gila 2.0

    It looks like a great pack for when I need to carry extra gear. My only concern is the use of UltraStretch™ for the side pockets. I think its OK for the front pocket, but the side pockets are more exposed and vulnerable when bushwhacking.

    Anyone have experience with UltraStretch™ ?

    Is it tough enough to be used as a material for side pockets?

    Here is some information about the fabric

    They state that it is a very durable and tear-resistant nylon fabric

    Range of Application: Backpack, Shoes

    To good to be true?

    reddit search yielded this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ultralight/comments/117o3gm/ultra_stretch_as_front_pocket/ – seems pretty durable.

    Seems to me that people have divided opinions

    @unworhty

    For my style of trips lower side pockets gets beat up no matter the material. I’m starting to think the small weight penalty of having them removable/replaceable is the way. Maybe like McHale where you also have the option to cant one or both forward to ease access.

    Give me stretch side and front pockets are exceptional in their usefulness.  If one is truly afraid of tearing the fabric, then perhaps an UL rain cover.
