Myself and Ian B are doing a 65 mile loop in the Sawtooth wilderness in July. Here is my current gear list for this trip. I would like some input on it from everyone. I think I have wittled it down to a good weight. I have not taken in to account any consumables like food or fuel but everything else is accounted for. If you think there is room for improvement (without purchasing anything) or I am missing something vital for this area please let me know.

I am waffling on shelters. I have a flat tarp and a borah gear bivy that would save me 11.5 ounces and I am may still use an alcohol stove or esbit but I doubt it. Other than that I don’t see any immediate savings.

Excellent! Just enough but not too much. I think the Neo-Air Trekker Wide/Torso is worth the extra weight. Very comfortable. Also the 70d bottom and 50d top is way more durable than the than the 30d Neo-Air X-Lite.

    Monte,

I have some nerve issues in my arm and can’t sleep on those 20″ wide X lite pads. My arms fall off of them and then my arms go numb for days. The wide short pad allows my arms to be supported and I will sleep better. I’ve gone through a dozen pads to find the right one.
